La Fondation André Arbus, sous l’égide de la Fondation de France, a été créée à l’initiative de Madeleine Thorel Arbus, sa fille. La fondation détient ainsi l’exclusivité des droits à l’image et des droits patrimoniaux sur l’oeuvre d’André Arbus.
Elle a pour objet de maintient le souvenir et la notoriété d’André Arbus, notamment par le soutien de publications et d’expositions.
La Fondation répertorie tout ce qui est en relation avec la vie et l’œuvre d’André Arbus afin d’offrir aux chercheurs une base de connaissances la plus complète possible.
La Fondation lutte contre la contrefaçon et elle mène une politique de réédition de qualité de certains meubles, tapis, luminaires et sculptures.
